Avishek is an architect, computational designer and maker based in Kolkata and Ahmedabad. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from CEPT University with a major in Architectural design. He works in the intersection of architecture, computational design, digital fabrication and material systems. He also holds a Fab Academy diploma completing Fab Academy 2017 from Fab Lab CEPT. Previously, he had completed his Bachelor of Architecture with Honours from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

 

During his time at CEPT University, he was actively involved with FabLab CEPT; as a contributor and as a student assistant. He has involved in designing, making and running a clay 3D printer during his time with a small team led by him. With workshop director Urvi Sheth, he has taught a workshop on clay 3D printing and assisted another on masonry shell structure as a teaching assistant.  At FabLab CEPT, he has mentored and assisted many students on computational design and digital fabrication.

 

His interests and present research areas are additive manufacturing: medium and large scale 3D printing, robotics and “machine that makes architecture”.
